Presentation's garden incorporates curriculum elements for each grade as well as a "Gardening Elective” class for our middle school students! It’s a creative place for the children to play, dig, and graze on healthy fresh picked snacks during recess. Occasionally it also serves as an outdoor classroom!
The grand opening of Presentation School’s New Learning Garden was held on May 4, 2011. Created as a tool for teachers to assist them in the implementation of their curriculum, the new garden is a hands-on, multi-age outdoor classroom for innovative, interesting subjects like ecology, soil science, botany, environmental art, water resources, wildlife management, and agriculture.
With features like a gourd arbor and nine raised container beds with rotating botanical themes, the garden also provides a special place for students. The garden is planned, planted, and managed by the middle-school Garden Elective class.
