Presentation school specializes in meeting the needs of gifted students. Every student is assessed at the beginning of each school year and placed in the appropriate level group for math and language arts instruction. For example, this might mean that a first grade boy joins a small group of 5-6 students for language arts instruction with a different teacher or that a 5th grade girl sits with the 6th grade for math. Presentation works closely with the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth and 45% of our students qualified to participate in the program last year. Parents are invited to annual workshops on gifted programs available to their students and this past summer, five Presentation students attended the Gifted Students Academy summer program at U.C. Irvine. Parents of new and prospective students are encouraged to submit any previous GATE testing with the application and to make an appointment to meet with our gifted coordinator.
