We are thrilled to share that Mrs. Gina Irvine will join the faculty in the fall as our new 7th grade homeroom teacher.
A fourth generation Sonoma resident, Gina knew she wanted to be a teacher as she was sitting in her fourth grade class at Flowery Elementary School and "teaching" her brother lessons at home.
After graduating from Sonoma Valley High School, Gina attended the University of Oregon where she received her B.A.and M.Ed. with honors in Teaching and Learning.
Gina moved back to Sonoma with her husband Michael, a resource development manager for Boys and Girls Club of Central Sonoma County.
Mrs. Irvine was a founding faculty member at a Vallejo Charter School, EL Education, for eight years, teaching and developing studentcentered, projectbased learning curricula. Mrs. Irvine taught fourth grade at Sassarini Elementary School, this year and is "so excited" to teach middle school at Presentation. Like many Presentation School teachers, Gina is trained in Responsive Classroom techniques, and is excited to apply her passions in our community.
Gina believes in educating the whole child and pushing each one to reach their personal goals. In her spare time, Gina enjoys anything outdoors, including painting, gardening, hiking, and camping.
