Matt Parker was raised in Huntsville, Texas. Matt received his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a Masters of Arts in Urban Planning from UCLA, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Stephen F. Austin University.

After business school, Matt decided that he wanted to pursue a career in the wine industry and began by dragging hoses and shoveling out fermentation tanks at Chalk Hill Estate Winery as a harvest intern in 2009. Matt is currently the CEO of Silverado Investment Management Company, a wine grape grower. Prior to Silverado, Matt served in the United States Marine Corps from 1995 to 2006 where he was a pilot.

Matt and his wife Melissa have called Sonoma home since 2010. Their daughter Eliza and son Rhett both attend The Presentation School. Matt enjoys spending time with family and friends, the occasional run, and smoking briskets.
