Compass Faculty Leadership Team
The Compass team and their work plays a crucial role in shaping our school community and the experience of both our students, their families, and our faculty and administration. Compass is made up of three members of our faculty and administration, each of whom is responsible for distinctive leadership roles specific to their positions at Presentation. Erin Donahue, M.Ed. (School Counselor, Student Support)
Erin supports students' holistic success and individual needs through counseling and guidance while providing resources to both our faculty and families. Erin works with our faculty on the collective ways we integrate and utilize the RULER program, a systemic approach to social and emotional learning that Presentation adopted as an integral part of its curriculum. Erin's dedication to her role on our campus ensures that Presentation remains an inclusive and collaborative community.
Alex Haley (Transitional Kindergarten, Coordinator of curriculum)
Alex is responsible for the development of our curriculum and programming by overseeing the implementation of new curricula such as K-5 English Language Arts, K-8 RULER program, and 6-8 Social Studies. Alex is the lead on what our students learn and how, ensuring access to innovative teaching and learning opportunities. Alex coordinates the annual ERB testing, adding another layer to how we account for the academic success of our students. To support the mission of continuous growth and learning, Alex vets and organizes our faculty professional development opportunities. Our robust professional development programs support evolving teaching strategies, technology, addressing diverse student needs, and providing resources for pedagogical growth. In addition to her role as Coordinator of Curriculum, Alex oversees and supports our TK program in the classroom. Alex is also a member of the school’s Strategic Planning Committee.
Melissa Yazzolino (3rd Grade Teacher, Mentor Teacher)
As a veteran teacher, Melissa serves as a mentor and support faculty member at Presentation. Melissa is responsible for onboarding all new faculty members, ensuring they get acclimated to Presentation and our community. To support new teachers, Melissa works in three-year cycles, holding weekly meetings and facilitating observations. Her work and expertise as a mentor ensures our educators implement effective teaching strategies, promoting the success of our teaching community while subsequently improving our student learning outcomes. Melissa supports cross grade and curricular collaboration with our faculty and student body to provide a rich and integrated experience both academically and socially, fostering a sense of belonging. Melissa sits on the schools DEI committee and helps to run our Student Belonging Group.
