The Presentation School’s Guide To Gifts + Giving
Providing a best-in-class education takes significant funding. Our hope is that this overview helps you plan your options for giving to Presentation throughout the year. For more information please contact Saasha Orsi, Advancement.
PRESENTATION FUND
The Presentation Fund is our annual giving drive which provides the greatest and most impactful benefits for our school, our children and our programs. Our target donations come from current families, alumni and extended families who know and love The Presentation School. The drive runs from October through December and your donations are 100% tax-deductible.
THE PATRIOT LEAGUE
The Patriot League is oriented to family owned businesses and businesses within our extended community. As a school-year-long sponsorship program, the Patriot League provides businesses and brands with visibility and unique marketing opportunities with our desirable audience of community-oriented families.
EVENTS
One of Presentation's annual fundraising events is our auction. Our auction evening is a fun, festive, night where parents and friends show support for our school and the great work we do while providing an essential financial boost to Presentation. This beloved event is a critical component of our fundraising efforts and offers many ways that parents can be involved. Last year we celebrated our 25th anniversary, as the leading independent school in Sonoma. The event was a major success thanks to the contributions of our community.
MATCHING GIFTS
There are many companies and foundations that will match their employees’ philanthropic contributions, allowing you to double or triple a gift to the school. Ask if your company is indeed a matching gift corporation.
GIFTS IN KIND
Gifts in kind are donations of needed goods and services to the school, generally through our fundraising events, where they may be part of the live or silent auction. These gifts are key in keeping our costs down for events.
STOCK GIFTS
Presentation school will happily accept stock donations. Contact the Advancement Office to begin the stock transfer process. When transferring securities at year-end make sure to begin early enough to ensure your transaction is processed and received by the School before the end of the calendar year.
PLANNED GIVING
To ensure that The Presentation School continues to inspire future generations of students to meet the challenges of their time, please consider including Presentation in your will. Such gifts help provide a stable future for Presentation, and may also offer significant tax advantages for you. Through careful planning and consultation with your advisors, a planned gift enables you to give more to Presentation than you ever thought possible.
PATHWAYS SCHOLARS
Schools of excellence increasingly must search for ways to draw the greatest talent from the widest possible pool of participants. Presentation Pathway Scholarships provide talented, but economically disadvantaged, young people from the Sonoma community with access to an excellent education, while greatly enriching our school community. Our mission charges us to be visionary and collaborative, as we prepare young people to be balanced, life-long learners and socially responsible leaders. Presentation Pathway Scholarships honor our commitment to developing future leaders who embody 21st century skills and mindsets. Shared educational experiences, with a diverse class of peers and friends, allow all children to positively participate in an exciting and constantly changing world. Partial and full Pathways Scholarships are awarded yearly to exceptional students who qualify for additional financial support.
GIFTS OF TIME AND TALENT
When you give your time to the school, everyone benefits: the children, the teachers, the school–and you. Volunteering gives you opportunities to meet other parents and make meaningful connections in the school community. It gives you insights to your children and their classmates and friends. It also gives you the opportunity to learn more about Presentation and the people, place and programs that set us apart. Last, but certainly not least, volunteering sends an important message to your child about your interest in and commitment to his or her school life.
